A Warm, Welcoming Approach to Growth and Healing

Helping clients grow and thrive is an honor for me. Life’s transitions can feel overwhelming. They can leave us feeling disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Whether you're navigating grief, divorce, burnout, relationship strain, or a significant personal loss, through therapy, I offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin rebuilding with intention.

I work with clients in the Houston, Texas area in person or virtually, across the state of Texas. Insurance use is available and welcomed.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent 15 years in the classroom as a teacher and I also worked as a CPS agent and caseworker with both The Harris Center and Communities in Schools. Those experiences gave me a level of understanding for how complex people’s lives and stories truly are.

Whether I am spending time with my four children, fishing, hiking, or playing with my dog and my chinchilla, I strive to find joy in everyday life. I carry that same hopefulness and resilience into my therapy sessions to help my clients find their sunshine.

Therapeutic Modalities and Integrative Approach

My therapeutic orientation is integrative, but is grounded in person-centered principles, emphasizing collaboration, empathy, and a strong therapeutic relationship. I approach each client’s experience within the broader context of their relationships, environments, and life roles. My work is informed by systemic and family systems theories, allowing us to explore how your relationships, boundaries, and interactional patterns may be contributing to your concerns. Drawing from Structural Family Therapy concepts, we can examine patterns that maintain distress while identifying opportunities for growth and reconnection.

In practice, I incorporate evidence-based interventions including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • DBT-informed skills for emotional regulation
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Strengths-based and collaborative interventions

My approach is trauma-informed and culturally responsive, with an emphasis on helping clients develop insight, regulate emotional responses, and engage in meaningful behavioral change that aligns with their personal values.

Clinical Training and Professional Experience

Part of my clinical training includes experience supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns within a crisis residential treatment setting. In this environment, I developed competencies in:

  • Risk assessment and safety planning
  • Treatment planning
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Crisis stabilization and support

I have also received supervised clinical training in grief and bereavement recovery, relational disruption, and emotional regulation. With this training I focus on fostering emotional safety, as well as strengthening accountability, and examining internal narratives that may shape how individuals understand attachment and relational navigation.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, my work is guided by ethical standards and an ongoing commitment to continued education and professional development. My clinical framework reflects both evidence-based practice and systemic understanding. This allows me to support my clients as they heal within the full context of their lives and relationships.

I look forward to an intake call, and getting to know you and be there with you through your journey.
